 Past Horses

This is a page that is tributed to horses that we have had in the past! Some good stories, some GREAT stories, and some sad stories!

Mr Bo Jangles

First off the bat has to be my beloved Mr Bo Jangles, or BoJ. I bought BoJ when I was around 11yrs old. He is a cob x nearly every other breed out there! But he is the best horse I have ever owned, and still own! I have had Bo since he was a naughty little 3yr old that was advertised in the paper for months on end because no one could ride him. My parents decided that it would be good for us to help out the people trying to sell him and it would give me a horse to ride (as my mare was in foal). Well, I fell in love, even after all the bites, kicks and pigroots! Since those humble early days, we have won that many ribbons I cannot count them all! Ranging from Western Performance to Pony Club, and then on the other weekends mustering and having fun on the farm! He currently resides on my mothers property, and will until his time is up.

Benny

Benny was my favourite horse at Goonoo Feedlot/station in Central QLD where I worked at back in 2005. He was not my horse (altho I asked to buy him, and so did my Mum!) but no one else liked to ride him as they didnt take the time to understand him. Benny was partially blind in one eye, which other people would hit him for shying, whereas I would take into account he couldnt see much on that side, and try and ensure there wasnt anything that got on that side to spook him. Benny is the horse being ridden (by me, Emma) on the home page. I loved him very much, and was very upset to learn he had been sold onto another station up North. I hope he is getting the care and love he deserves.

Clancy

Clancy was bought for me by Mark for 2009 Christmas present. We bought him sight unseen, trusting the people over the phone and the photos that they sent to us. He didnt cost much (which should have been a red flag, but BoJ only cost me $300, so not all cheapies arent badies!). We paid the people to bring him out to us (4hr drive). He arrived in a condition that was fit for the RSPCA. After lots of love and care, he turned out to be a great horse and LOVES attention. After a visit from the vet (poked his eye on some grass) we were told that he wasnt the 13yrs old the last owners told us, but more around 23yrs! All the info the vet could give me was that he was old, and had had a very hard life. Clancy had been a station horse most of his life, but we only know his history back a few years. Clancy now lives down near Maryborough on my mothers property were he will live out the rest of his life being happy and FAT!

UPDATE - Clancy has now crossed the rainbow bridge to greener pastures and where the water always runs cool and clear. He was put down on the 05/01/11 as he had been bitten by a suspected brown snake. He will be missed and he brought great happiness to anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. We will meet again one day old friend, until then, you will never be forgotten. xxxooo

Inca

Inca is a lovely horse, that we had the pleasure of owning for nearly 1 year. She was purchased as a mate for Clancy, and a general riding horse. She taught Mark to ride, and how to handle horses. She has a lovely temperment, and a very willing nature. Due to only having a small amount of time to ride our horses, we decided that for Inca to have someone spend the time with her that she deserved, we would sell her. That very sad day happened on the 15/12/10, as she was loaded onto the float, headed for her new home. She will now be a great horse for Courtney to love, and is living only 30mins down the road! Hopefully there are many trails and fun times to be had with Inca and Courtney.

Congrats Courtney on your purchase of Inca, happy trails my friend.
